100% Pinot Grigio from the oldest winery in Slovenia, Ptujska Klet, in the city of Ptuj, which sits just above Lake Ptuj on the Drava River. When fully ripe, the skin of Pinot Grigio is a dark pink, almost purple color. With this wine, the skins have been left to macerate in the pressed juice for 72 hours, giving it the copper hued, rosé-like color that is it’s defining characteristic. All stainless-steel, naturally-fermented with very few sulfites used in a quite natural winemaking fashion. Notes of fresh lime and pear are complimented by a textured mouthfeel and minerality that comes from the extended skin contact. It’s clean, crisp, refreshing, but complex at the same time.
