A strikingly pure cool and airy nose is comprised by notes of the essence of red pinot fruit floral and discreet forest floor wisps. There is almost painful intensity to the chiseled and overtly stony medium weight flavors that possess excellent delineation on the refreshing moderately austere and focused finale. Above and touches 1er Chanlins on the Volnay side of Pommard, just next to Rugiens. 40+ year old vines, grown on a very dangerous, steep parcel at 400m that is worked by hand. Red clay and chalk soil. 15% whole cluster, with indigenous yeast fermentation. Aged in barrel (15% new) before release.
