I want to give a Wine of the Month Club gift, but the recipient only drinks red (or white) wine. Do you offer a reds only (or whites only) club?
Our wine clubs are designed to offer one red and one white each month, with accompanying recipes. If you would like to receive only reds or only whites, we can subsitute a wine of comparable value. However, the club recipes will still match the club selections for the month, so you are not receiving the full benefit of the club. If you would like a red or white only subscription, please indicate such in the “Additional Notes/Comments” section in Step 3 of the checkout process.
I just ordered a Wine of the Month Club gift subscription, what happens now?
Your wine club subscription will start next month. In the meantime, we will mail out a certificate announcing the gift to your recipient. The certificate tells the recipient what they can expect each month and includes subscription details (which club they are receiving, who the gift giver is, any gift message you indicated in the “Notes/Additional Comments” section in Step 3 of the checkout process, whether the monthly wines are being delivered or are to be picked up each month at our store, and for how long the subscription runs).
Why do you need mailing address information for the Wine of the Month Club subscriptions if I selected In Store Pickup (instead of delivery)?
We mail a certificate before the Wine of the Month Club subscription starts to announce the gift and give details about the club membership to your recipient.
Why do you need an email address for the Wine of the Month Club subscription?
At the beginning of each month, we send an email with information about the monthly wine club selections and the club recipes (the Wine Club Write-ups). We also send out other emails throughout the month, and recipients can manage their email subscription on the website when they log-in.
I selected the Delivery option for my Wine of the Month gift. When will the wines be delivered?
Wine of the Month deliveries are sent out the first full week of the month. If the recipient is in the Greater Cincinnati area, the wines will be delivered via The Wine Merchant delivery service. If the recipient is outside the Greater Cincinnati area, the wines will be delivered via UPS. UPS delivery requires an adult signature – we recommend providing a business address when possible to avoid additional delivery charges for returned packages. To see where we can ship, use the drop down menu in the checkout process to see if your state is listed.
I want to send a gift basket to someone outside the Greater Cincinnati area, is this possible?
We do not ship gift baskets outside the Greater Cincinnati area due to packaging restrictions when sending items via UPS. We recommend sending one of our wine gift sets in a gift bag which we can then package effectively for UPS delivery. We can deliver gift baskets locally via The Wine Merchant delivery service.
I ordered something online to be picked up in the store, when will my order be ready?
Please allow 24 hours to process your online order. If you would like to pick something up sooner, please call the store to ensure your items are ready (513)731-1515. We will send a confirmation email when your order has been processed.
I placed an order online to be shipped via UPS outside the Greater Cincinnati area. When will my order ship?
Orders for in-stock items take 24 hours to process. We try to ship wines at the beginning of the week in order to get shipments to you before the weekend. This is because we have no control over the temperature conditions at the UPS warehouse. When we generate your packing label, we will email you the tracking information and give you an estimate of when the package will leave our store. I live out of state and am trying to order a gift to be delivered in Ohio, but I get an error message when I try to complete the checkout process. Can I still place an order?
If you live in a state where we cannot ship alcohol due to state laws, we can still process an order for local delivery. Please call our store (513)731-1515 to complete the order.
